BRENNAN HOSE Co. 60 - Manhattan Alley & Elm St.
Organized March 28, 1854.

Named in honor of Matthew T. Brennan, a prominent member of Engine 21,
who would serve in various political offices, including Comptroller and
Sheriff of New York.
Among the members of this company was Martin J. Keese, who was wounded
at Bull Run while serving in Company F of the 11th New York. He would
return to be elected foreman of Hose 60, and later serve as Brennan's
deputy sheriff.
