FORREST ENGINE Co. 3 - 211 East 11th St.
Organized March 5, 1860.

This company lost at least two of its members, John Gleason and James Hurley, at Bull Run. Hurley was known as a singer, and most notably led 100 of the men in singing "Shule Agra" while working the pumps at a fire at Houston St. and the Bowery.

During the 1863 draft riots, some of this company formed a military squad that patrolled the vicinity of the dry docks near their quarters.
