From page 17 of Hot Corn: Life Scenes in New York Illustrated, Solon
Robinson, 1854:
"He is a Jew—a dealer in second hand clothes...He has just received information
of a shipment tomorrow of yellow fever patients' clothing, which will arrive
tomorrow or Sunday, and he wants his Christian partner to look out on Saturday;
on Sunday, the Jew will watch the chance to buy the infected rahs, which
both will sell on Monday at 100% profit."
